Where does spending go, and what changed?
Compare the General Fund's adopted spending plans. Choose two years to see which services account for the largest amounts or changes. An increase in budget does not by itself explain why costs rose or whether services improved.
This covers one fund. For the total across all four included funds, compare the county total. These are the adopted plans printed in the budget books. An audited General Fund year separately compares spending with the final budget after amendments, so its budget figures may differ.
How these categories work
Each share uses the FY2026 General Fund adopted budget of $275,141,134, including transfers to other funds. It is not a share of all county spending. Changes are in the dollars of each year, without adjustment for inflation or population.
“Public Safety” is the county's category label. Sheriff is under Law Enforcement Services; emergency medical services may be grouped separately. Open a category to see what it includes in that year. The department view uses each category's direct budget lines, or the category itself when no further breakdown is published. Parent and child totals are not added together. Transfers to other funds are included among the budget categories.
